Through the generosity of  Comcast, the Goodnow Library provides Wireless Access throughout the library.

To use wireless internet access in the Goodnow Library:

HOW TO CONNECT YOUR LAPTOP TO

THE WIRELESS NETWORK

 

STEP 1:

SET YOUR WIRELESS SSID TO (ALL LOWERCASE LETTERS):

 

sudbury

 

STEP 2:

SET YOUR TCP/IP SETTINGS TO:

 

          ‘OBTAIN AN IP ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY’

 

STEP 3:

Surf the Internet from anywhere in the library!

To check your TCP/IP settings:

 

1.     click on the START button

2.     click on Settings

3.     click on Control Panel

4.     click on Network Settings

5.     right-click on Local Area Connection

- if more than one appears, choose the wireless adapter, which can be

determined by the device name listed after each Local Area connection

6.     click on Properties

7.     verify the TCP/IP option is checked

8.     highlight the TCP/IP and click Properties

9.     verify that Obtain an IP Address Automatically is selected

10. verify that Obtain DNS Automatically is selected

11. click OK to close the window and save your changes

12. click OK to close the window
