Yes. We have a nutrition program at our site under the direction of BayPath Elder Services. Meals are served Tuesdays and Wednesdays at noon. The suggested voluntary donation is $3.00.

Part of the cost of the meal is underwritten by the federal government through the Administration on Aging.  Each meal is planned by a registered dietitian to meet 1/3 of the daily nutritional requirements of a senior.

Menus appear in the Senior Center newsletter, the Sudbury Senior Scene, which is sent out at the beginning of each month.  They are also available on the Sudbury Town website.

Reservations for meals must be made by no later than 10 AM on Monday, by calling the Senior Center at 978-443-3055.

It is pretty easy.

Once there, in the upper left corner you’ll see “Email Lists”.  Click on that, then click on “Senior Center—General Information” from the drop-down menu that appears. 

 Enter your e-mail address in the box provided, and click on “View Subscription Status”.

Enter your first and last name in the boxes, and, importantly, click on the little box in the green box that says “Subscribe to Senior Center—General Information”.  Please remember to click on “Save Subscription Changes” just below the green box.  You will be added to get all the newsletters the month before they are mailed, and occasional updates and items of interest that have come up too late for inclusion in the newsletter.

Sure you can!..A few services are reserved just for those 60 and older, but most activities and many services are open to all.

 In Sudbury a person officially achieves the status of "senior citizen" at age 60.

The Senior Center operates a wheelchair lift-equipped van for Sudbury seniors and people with disabilities that will pick you up at your place of residence and bring you to the Senior Center and any other destination in Sudbury. It will later return you to your place of residence.

The van operates 8:30 AM to 3 or 3:30 PM Monday-Friday.  The fare is $1.00 one way.  The entire cost of operating the van, including the driver's salary and benefits and repairs to the vehicle are paid through an agreement with the MetroWest Regional Transit Authority (MWRTA).

We  mail the Sudbury Senior Scene free to all Sudbury households where the head of the household is age 60 or more.  There are 11 issues a year.

The newsletter is printed for us free by Community Publications, which sells ads in the newsletter to pay for the printing.  The postage is paid for by the Friends of Sudbury Seniors, at no cost to taxpayers.

Some people get the newsletter by joining our on-line distribution list.  People in other towns who want the newsletter mailed to them do pay an annual subscription fee of $7.00 to defray the cost of postage.

We have several on-going programs including aerobics, yoga, bridge, watercolors and cribbage, as well as courses in computer basics and many "lifelong learning" series.

We also have several health related programs and a free blood-pressure clinic.  We offer day trips, multi-day trips, and even trips to other countries.  For further information, call the  Senior Center at (978) 443-3055 or Click Here to send us an email.

We are always looking for ideas for new programs. Many of the Senior Center programs started as the result of an idea from a Sudbury senior.
