| Question |
|---|
| Are there any poisonous snakes in Sudbury?
No. Although most snakes in our area have tiny needle-like teeth and will bite if handled, none are poisonous. Some people erroneously believe that the black snakes they see basking around ponds and streams in the summer time are "water moccasins." They are merely Northern Water Snakes.
|
| Is camping permitted on town conservation lands?
Yes, camping is allowed on the conservation lands, but you must obtain a permit from us. You must obtain a seperate permit from the fire deptartment if you wish to have a fire. Please contact the conservation office for more information.
|
| Is there an area for Community Gardening in Sudbury? The Sudbury Conservation Commission provides gardening plots at the Lincoln Meadows conservation land (north side) off Lincoln Rd. Plots are 30' x 30' for $25 per season. Plots come plowed & staked with composted manure available on site. Organic and inorganic sections are available.
For an application, please call Debbie Watson at 978-440-9379 or email the Conservation Coordinator at dineend@town.sudbury.ma.us for further information. |
| Where can I get the permit forms for a wetlands filing?
For the present you must visit the Conservation Commission office to get copies of state wetland permit and local bylaw permit forms.
